Classes run August through May. The Summer Workshop runs June & July. Call or come by for starting dates, schedules and fees.
Creative Movement (ages 3-4) Children are introduced to the basic elements of dance and are encouraged through props, instruments and a wide variety of music. These classes are fun and prepare students for the technical challenges in the following levels. Class is once a week, 45 min.
Pre-Ballet (beginners ages 5 – up) Students begin to develop an understanding of proper ballet technique. Some of the lessons in this class are body placement, poise, balance and musicality. Class is once a week, 1 hr.
*Note. For Ballet I – IV placement is at the discretion of the directors. At least two years of study is recommended at each level.
Ballet I A - Students continue development of technique. New steps and combinations are added to their dance vocabulary and special attention given to flow of movement. This year students add jazz to their week where dancers expand their knowledge of other dance styles. Two classes a week. 1 hr & 15 min.
Ballet I B - Students take 2 classes a week. 1 hr & 30 min.
Ballet II - Students take 3 classes a week. 1 hr & 30 min. + extended class time.
Ballet III - Students take 4 classes a week. 1 hr & 30 min. + extended class time.
Ballet IV – Students take 5 classes a week. 1 hr & 30 min. + extended class time.
[Extended class time will include pre-pointe, pointe, jazz, and modern dance. Pre-pointe and pointe work is at the discretion of the directors.]
Tap & Hip Hop classes are optional for levels Ballet I A - up and open for non-ballet dancers ages 7 & up
